The Wedding Ceremony is ‘the moment’ most people have dreamed about - walking down the aisle made up of your closest family and friends - dressed in the most amazing outfit - towards the man or woman of your dreams.
Perhaps you have imagined gasps of awe and admiration from all present - because they have never seen you look so beautiful before!! however you have pictured this scene and how it will play out I will say that you would never have had to think about the ‘face-less’ individual who will actually be officiating at the wedding of your dreams.
Having to entrust this pinnacle moment of your life to a complete stranger seems daunting enough - let alone having to pay for their services for a 20 to 30 minute ceremony - especially when all you have to do is draw from the infinite pool of knowledge - otherwise known as the internet - and write your own.
So yes we celebrants are the necessary element in your dreams - but I hope that after meeting me you will gain an insight into me, what drives me to do what I do and how you can trust me to carry your ‘dream’ wedding onto its successful conclusion.
Firstly am I qualified to do your wedding? I am registered with the Department of Internal Affairs as a Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant - this is not easy to attain - your integrity comes into question and at least 5 referees are asked to vouch for you, and your commitment and contribution to society - so I am immensely proud of this particular recognition.
I have studied and gained a Certificate and Diploma of Celebrancy through Weltec (Wellington). While it’s true that you do not need to study celebrancy to be a celebrant, having an in-depth knowledge of ceremony and ritual has equipped me with confidence and flexibility to incorporate the necessary elements and legalities into your dream wedding in a seamless and unfussy manner.
A further ‘bonus’ to my qualifications is that as a member of CANZ I adhere to a code of ethics and avail myself of any professional development to keep my practice professional, fresh and current - which could only serve to instil an assurance that you will be entrusting and investing your wedding into very safe, knowledgeable and capable hands.
Finally - while it’s all very well having theory - how well does ‘it’ (theory) and ‘I' translate into experience in delivery? Well I have designed, choreographed and produced a number of different weddings - ranging from private residences, garden, beach, hospital bedside, and same sex - destination weddings.
Each one of these wonderful celebrations have been a test of all my skills & emotions and I have absolutely enjoyed pleasing my clients, their families and friends as well as the Government Agency that I officiate on behalf of. Some of my past clients have been kind enough to furnish me with photo’s & testimonials so I have published them here to speak for themselves.
I hope I can be of service to you both and look forward to creating a wonderful stage while you ‘stand in the light’ to tell your story.
